L. Michelle Bruijn
I am a PhD candidate at the department of Legal Methods at the Faculty of Law, University of Groningen (the Netherlands). I am also a researcher at the Research Center for Public Order and Security (COOV).
My research focuses mostly on the legalization of cannabis and tackling drug-related crime without bringing criminal law into play. Mostly, drug-related evictions in the Netherlands and the United States (One Strike drug evictions). To study this, I combine empirical legal research methods with traditional doctrinal legal research methods.
I have an LL.B. and an LL.M. in Dutch law from the University of Groningen. During my masters, I specialized in public order law and legal methods..
